Things To Do and How To Get There


Diving, snorkeling, sailing, and fishing. Blue Hole and Shark Ray Alley are popular dive sites. Mayan ruin tours of Marco Gonzalez, Chac Balam, and Santa Cruz. Inland tours of other Mayan ruins can also be arranged at most resorts. The Cayes are islands off the coast of Belize. Get to Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker by plane from Belize International or Municipal Airports and by ferry from the public dock. For resorts on other cayes, ask the resort management. Transportation by foot once there. Some have golf carts to rent.

Mayan ruin of Altun Ha. The Belize Zoo. The Bermudian Landing Baboon Sanctuary. Historical sites. Other tours elsewhere can be arranged. Most tourists use Belize City as an embarkation point to other sites in Belize. Visitors fly into Belize International Airport then travel on via smaller aircraft, buses or rental car after passing through Customs. Taxis are readily available also.

Mayan ruins of Pomona, Kuchil Balum, Kendall and Alabama. Flights from Belize International and Municipal Airports to Dangriga and Placencia or by bus or rental car. Transportation can be by foot once you arrive in either of the locations as the towns are small. Taxis are also available.

Mountain type activities at Mountain Pine Ridge, Vaca Falls, 1000 Foot Falls. Caving, tubing, canoeing, wildlife, birding, inland Blue Hole, Panti Medicinal trail, Mennonite farms. Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, Caracol, Cahal Pech, El Pilar, Barton Ramie, Tipu, Mucnal Tunich, Actun Balam, and Tzimin Kax. Trips to Tikal in Gutemala can be arranged. Resorts in this area generally arrange pick up from Belize International. Taxis will also take you there, although costly. Rental cars are also available at the International Airport.

River trips, tubing, wildlife, birding, Mennonite farms. Mayan ruins of Lamanai, Chan Chich, San Jose, Kakabish, El Infierno, Las Milpas, Cuello, San Antonio, and El Pozito. Get there by bus or rental car.
